How to Keep In Touch With Your Donors
Your donors are the lifeline of your organization. They support you because they believe in you and your mission. They need to know the impact their support is having and to feel connected to what they are supporting. Otherwise, they may feel unimportant and that their contributions do not matter. Here are three quick tips to help keep up with your donors:
Refresh the message on your donor’s receipts. Make the most of that postage stamp or email! Each donation from each donor matters. It is up to you to make sure they feel that way. Take advantage of this regularly occurring communication. Keep the message fresh, current, relevant and specific.
Frequently update social media with pictures of your work and needs. All donors love to see their support in action in real time. They feel an instant connection and pride that they are active participants in your work. They sometimes want to know and see for themselves how they can be of even more help with current needs.
Regular newsletter. Take notes as you go about what may interest your donors. Donors enjoy hearing about you and your family in addition to the work you are doing. So don’t forget them as they are integral members of your mission team.
Any contact will go a long way. Your donors know you are busy and focused on your mission. However, they need to hear from you so they feel like valuable partners.
